Tom Ying is the is the principal lawyer of STC Lawyers, a law firm focusing on international mobility, immigration and related legal matters. He leads his team of lawyers and professionals to represent multiple high net worths, c-level and other senior executives across fortune 500 /global companies. In particular, he is a key user/stakeholder of Australia’s global talent program and has been personally responsible for bringing hundreds of industry elites internationally into Australia across critical sectors of the economy.
He is an alumni of Sydney Grammar School and the University of New South Wales Commerce/Law. He practiced at an international law firm for 7 years before founding STC Lawyers in 2017, where he has built the million-dollar business from scratch. In addition to providing legal services, under Tom’s leadership, STC Lawyers is uniquely placed as it is at the forefront of driving talent mobility, cross-border innovation/technological advancement, helping businesses/start ups establish in Australia, and channelling investment across the critical sectors. Tom recently received recognition from Austrade for being the key party to bring across two global giants to set up presence in Australia, one in AI/tech industry and the other in biotech/pharmaceutical. For his contributions, he has also received multiple other awards and recognition including but not limited to 2022, 2023 APAC legal Awards, 2023 International Elite 100 Global Awards.
Tom also holds direct/indirect roles in multiple other ventures including but not limited to legal counsel/stakeholder to VCs, fund managers, Venture studios, head-hunter/recruitment firms, career forums, educational institutions to name a few. He is also a frequent keynote speaker at universities, multiple podcasts, government & industry related events. Most recently, he was invited by the Overseas Community Affairs Council R.O.C as a panel speaker to address the education systems in Australia. Tom aims to remain a prominent force in contributing and driving the Australian economy.
